THE ONE MOST ENLIGHTENING AND HEART STRING-PLUCKING SHORT FILM EVER

Film poster for The Silent Child

The film The Silent Child is 20 minutes of poignancy and wonderfulness.

It won an Academy Award. But unfortunately it won in a film category that few people ever actually watch. Which means you probably haven’t seen it (I get it, I get, you’re busy).

I could go on and on about how terrific the film is, but I’d be cutting into the 20 minutes it would take you to watch it—and there’s nothing that I could ever write that could possibly be more worthy of your time than experiencing this film.

The Silent Child was written by the multi-talented Rachel Shenton, who also happens to star in the film alongside first-time actor Maisie Sly, who will grab your heart, turn it inside-out, and put it back in your chest changed forever.

Rachel Shenton also stars in the highly-recommended PBS series All Creatures Great And Small, which I wrote about in The Most Wholesome Series On TV (And Much-Welcomed Respite From All The Things).
